I am at the ICANN Vancouver meeting,
where I have some privacy concerns with regards to the hotel (Westin) giving out details about their guests.
Everyone in the hotel gets a free daily newspaper – a local, Vancouver one.
However, the ICANN participants get it in a plastic bag, with a 1-page leaflet, published by some strange organization, called “Coalition for ICANN Transperancy”.
How did they get the information where to put newspapers with the plastic bags and the accompanied leaflet? I believe it’s an issue of privacy concern.
I am not the only one concerned – just a while ago Izumi Aizu of Japan also raised the same question during the Public Forum of the meeting.
Hope that the Westin management will address this issue.
