Susan Boyle (a participant in “Britain’s got talent 2009”) indeed touches the hearts of the people, who initially laughed at her dreams to be a successful singer as Elaine Paige.

Times Online writes (and that says it all):
At the pre-recorded audition, broadcast four days ago, audience members laughed at the frizzy-haired, church-going Catholic who lives alone with her cat in a rundown council estate, when she said she wanted to follow in the footsteps of the West End star Elaine Paige.[ ]
Minutes later the audience were on their feet, applauding wildly after her soaring rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream”, from “Les Miserables”.
She got a standing ovation throughout her performance, and the complete “yes” of the jury.
It is good to read the stories about her, and her life. See for example here.
The moral of the story: never give up. Never!
Amazing true story.
It proves how shallow the human race really is. To judge someone so cynically due to the the way she looks. She is an inspiration to people who are struggling with every day life. What a voice, I don’t know anyone who isn’t touched by this, I think she has lifted our nation.
I think she has lifted not the U.S. nation (after all, she’s Scottish:-) but the entire world – “and that’s only part of it” …
the voice of Susan Boyle is phenomenal and for me she is a great performer. too bad she was unable to make it to the finals.
Susan Boyle has a superb voice. Me and my sister like her performace a lot and we voted for her.
Susan Boyle has a great voice, if she only look good then she could have been a fast rising star. the music industry is also like showbiz, somehow you need to look good if you want to become famous fast.
