Нели Огнянова е пуснала едно стихотворение от Валери Петров, та то ме подсети за друго негово стихотворение, писано и публикувано някъде около 30-ата годишнина от Априлския пленум*.

Диплодошка жалба

Ний сме диплодоци, кротки, тревопасни,
тежки и огромни, ала безопасни.
Дълго си живяхме мирно и по свойски
в нявгашни далечни ери мезозойски,
ала нещо става – чувстваме го всички,
като си напрегнем дребните главички:
някои животни станали са ловки,
нокти са развили и добили човки,
гребени от плочи, челюсти зъбати,
и на туй отгоре – нрави непознати.
А пък ний, родени в миналото време,
ний сме пригодени папрат да пасеме
и затуй зъбите са ни всички кътни,
и затуй спокойно другите ядат ни,
и затуй видът ни, редък напоследък,
бавно си изчезва с общия напредък.
Но не може нищо тук да се извърши,
тъй като процесът става твърде бърже,
а не подобава някой диплодокус
да се унижава до подобен фокус:
за да не загине, зъби да си турне,
тоест, по причини чисто конюнктурни.
И какво излиза? Че като държиме
да опазим свойто диплодошко име,
сложен в обстановка сложна като тази,
себе си видът ни няма да опази.
Но какво да сторим? И полека-лека
тръгваме ний в свойта царствена пътека,
трийсет метра дълги, бавни и масивни,
все тъй удивени и все тъй наивни,
да поставим нейде в залите музейни
своите огромни прешлени идейни.

Ироничното е, че 45 години по-късно, на 6-и април 2001 г. Симеон прави прословутото си обръщение към народа, което два месеца по-късно го доведе на власт като министър-председател. Susan Boyle (a participant in “Britain’s got talent 2009″) indeed touches the hearts of the people, who initially laughed at her dreams to be a successful singer as Elaine Paige.

Minutes later the audience were on their feet, applauding wildly after her soaring rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream”, from “Les Miserables”.

She got a standing ovation throughout her performance, and the complete “yes” of the jury.

Amazing true story.

Днес баща ми Миле Марковски навършва 70 години.
Или как е по-правилно: щеше да навърши 70, ако не беше загинал два дни преди рождения си ден, на 12-и април 1975 година.

По този случай с брат ми Игор решихме да издадем книгите на баща ми, но за разлика от преди 10 години, сега ще го направим в Интернет. В близките дни ще качим издадените от него книги в България в Интернет. Ще ги пуснем под лиценз “Криейтив комънс – признание – некомерсиално“, така че всеки ще може да ги чете и разпространява свободно.

В сайта ще добавим и фотогалерия, а по-нататък се надявам да допълним и със спомени на неговите съвременици от България и от Македония. Аз съм се срещал с десетки хора, от които съм чувал само най-добри думи за него; моите спомени за съжаление са малко и откъслечни. За сметка на това Ванга имаше много спомени от общуването си с него. Някой ден и тях ще ги опиша.

Надявам се сайтът да стане готов до няколко дни и ще пусна тук представяне.

I’ve been listening in the last days to Regina Spektor.

Highly recommend all her songs. So far my favorite is “Après Moi” from “Begin to Hope” – may be because she sings a little bit in Russian there, or may be because I listened to the live performance at the TED. Whatever the reason, she’s really, really outstanding performer.

Her music could touch all the hidden parts in your heart, and make them come to the sunshine. It may sound scary in the beginning, but as a matter of fact, the feeling is almost impossible to describe: breathing becomes intense, tears go up your eyes, and when she starts singing in Russian, her voice changes dramatically; if you are not crying by then, you must have no heart.

I don’t know what causes the sudden change in the language, and the voice – could be that she sings about February (and Russia has a lot to deal with in February, and not only because that’s the month when Regina is born).

Or could be that she actually sings about crying – and with the sound of her voice cutting directly through your ribs, and into your heart. It is an amazing feeling.

Regina Spektor is a singer worth listening to. And hearing well.

Sarah Elizabeth Foster is a 26-year old musician from Houston, Texas.
She lives in New York today, which totally makes sense, as this is the place to be for any cool musician, composer, writer, artist…

I met her first at the 6th anniversary of Creative Commons, in December 2008. She performed there, as she has just released her first album under CC license. Her debut album, Gardening from the Ground Up Part 1, can be downloaded via her own website.

I talked with Sarah Foster one more time, and what really impressed me is her devotion to music, and to spreading the word about Creative Commons. It is not rare to see a musician who is creative (I’ve blogged about one of them, who I personally know), but it is rare to see a musician who is at the same time creative, charming, smart, and enjoys what he or she’s doing.

Sarah enjoys what she is doing; she enjoys composing, and enjoys just living here life, where great things happen.

But she does something more, or else I wouldn’t have written about her:

She understands how important it is to not only create culture, but share it, allow others to share, and remix, and transform in any form and shape that makes it suitable for individuals. She is the opposite of the cliche, and one of the first musicians to actually be on the cutting edge of technology.

Sarah does it all – she has her own label (Studio Sarah Records), uses green products, donates 1 %R of her album sales (not profit, but sales) to “1 % for the Planet Foundation”, masters her blog, manages profiles in facebook, myspace, twitter, Linkedin, and others.

I like Sarah, and I like her music.
She’s full with positive energy, and that’s rare. She creates music, and I admire people who do that. But she does it in a way, which is beyond explanation, with passion and devotion, which is unique.
People like her make a difference.
I wish her good luck in the coming performances in New York and the surrounding states. Listen to her music, spread the word around, join her fans at Facebook or MySpace.

Sarah uses CC BY-NC-SA as her license; I asked her why, and here’s what she responded:

I thought it made perfect sense to allow people to remix the music non-commercially.
The benefits outweigh the risks [of my music being misused]; artists will make beautiful, interesting, original works from my original work. It fascinates and flatters me when I think of someone wanting to use what I’ve created to create something themselves.
And I hope if the remixers out there want to do something commercial with what they’ve done, they will contact me and we can make that happen. As for attribution, I think that the original artist should be credited, and share-alike will mean the remixes can continue to be remixed.

Nothing more to say, except that we see a bright, and a good young woman, sure of herself, and sure of the good in other artists that live out there. She may face hard times, but the important thing is that she doesn’t seem like someone ready to give up, when confronted with an obstacle.

Joi Ito published a book, called Freesouls.
It is a unique book, and you should definitely hurry and buy it (there are only 1024 copies printed with paperback, and a luxury box set of 50 copies).

I blog about this book not only because I am captured there, but because it shows a completely different way of approaching arts, in this case it’s photography and essays.
Not talking about the design of the book, which is stunning.
Whoever and wherever WANG Zhi-Hong and HSU Yu-Wen (the graphic designers) are, I want to congratulate you for your work in creating this masterpiece. I wish I knew you, but I am sure you’ll read my sincere greetings and thanks here.

Again, it is amazing to see Joi’s creativity in action.
I know him for years, and I’m a great admirer of the good things he does for the Internet, and for the world. Sometimes I think that the planet needs just a few more people like him, and all problems will be easier to solve.

За първи път в България 40 авторски творби на индиански деца от Перу и снимки от уникалния им автентичен живот в джунглата ще бъдат показани на изложба в Артгалерията в Кърджали на 17 декември в 17 ч.

Инициативата е на момичето, което медиите нарекоха Мила от Амазония и „единствената българска мисионерка в сърцето на джунглата”. Организатор е Арт движение „Кръг”.

Мила Банкова не живее в България от 7 години, а през последните две е мисионерка в Перу – държава, която е сред най-слабо развитите страни в света. Индексът на човешко развитие в Перу е 0,773. След Хаити тя е на последно място по образование и брой на неграмотни хора в цяла Южна Америка. Поради некачественото образование и пълната липса на информация, Мила организира курсове по амазонска култура в нелегално изградения, потънал в мизерия и кал квартал „Лас Ломас” в Пуерто Малдонадо в Амазония, където се заселва. В местните училища децата учат история на колонизацията, факти от Първата и Втората световна война, но не и уникалните перуански културни феномени, които вълнуват целия свят, древни култури, родени от невероятните етноси в Амазония – 65 броя само в Перу. На изчезването и разпиляването на местната култура се противопоставя и българското момиче, като обучава 70 от най-бедните перуански деца да изследват собствения си фолклор и митологията на амазонската джунгла, да представят неповторимостта на своята цивилизация със средствата на изкуството, да се обърнат към света с посланията си за спасяване на природата, дъжда и климата на земята.

Мила е предразположила децата от джунглата с огромно удоволствие да пишат, да рисуват местни истории, да ги възпроизвеждат в театрални постановки (с помощта и на Джина Галан, улична артистка, завършила театрална педагогика). Децата, с които работи българката, са наследници на инките и на други амазонски племена, които през своята дълга история в селвата са се научили да познават гората с всичките й приказни богатства и невъобразими опасности, с животните и духовете, владеели са всяка извивка на реките, всеки звук от гората и от музиката на дъжда, грацията на пумата, гордостта на кондора, могъщата сила на анакондата-национални символи на Перу. Звученето на кечуа – езикът на инките е изваял приказките на децата. Мила е успяла да събуди дълбоки пластове на вдъхновение в малките им души, открили силата на посланието към другите деца по света за мистериите и невидимото очарование на тяхната любима джунгла. Откривателско любопитство и отключени дарби пресъздават магията на могъщата Амазония. Творчеството им прониква в дълбините на съзнанието, където се оказва, че любовта, приятелството, мира, справедливостта сродява детето в джунглата с душата на българчето, турчето, арменчето, ескимосчето, африканчето-стремежите на сърцето са едни и същи по цялата земя! Предметите и хората в рисунките и текстовете на индианчетата, които Мила представя в България, свободно се превръщат в птици, духове и животни, а искреността, с която го правят, е послание към света за съхранение на красотата на живата природа.

Визуалните материали, които ще бъдат представени на изложбата „Нарисувай ми нещо от Амазония”, са част от готовия за печат ръкопис на Мила „Писмо от Амазония”, който ще стигне до читателите в началото на следващата година. Книгата току-що беше завършена в Арт къщата в приказно красивото родопско село Дъждовница – под дъжда на Източните Родопи. Изложбата се организира с подкрепата на Александър Иванов Иванов, Ивайло Георгиев Николов и Община Кърджали в рамките на Празничната програма в навечерието на 2009 г.

„Всичко, което научих за джунглата, тайните, растенията, животните, сънищата и голямата любов към природата и вечните душевни стойности, беше благодарение на децата, които още от първия момент се накачулиха върху раменете ми и започнаха да пипат странните западни “цивилизовани” предмети (обеци, дрънкулки, фотоапарат, камера и др.). Те искаха да ме научат на всичко и бяха любопитни към всичко. Благодаря ви, деца, безкрайно ви обичам! Вие завинаги красиво и с обич влязохте в моя живот, както и аз, надявам се, във вашия!” – пише Мила в своите дневници.

I was at a great performance on Saturday evening – Diana Vishneva, the prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater, Kirov Ballet, is the most unique of all.

She is also principal dancer with the American Ballet Theater, and has performed in Rudolf Nureev’s Swan Lake in Paris in 2006.

The choreography was done by Alexei Ratmansky, artistic director of the Bolshoi Ballet.

The whole show was amazing, but the most impressive of all is Diana’s dance. Her body moves as no other ballerina’s. And although you can’t tell from the picture*, it is also the most perfect, all muscles, perfectly shaped, as if designed for the best possible ballet movements. I’ve never seen something like that.

Of the three parts, I liked most the second one, which was called F.L.O.W., which stands for “Form Love Of Women”. Choreographer here was Moses Pendlton, who has done a truly amazing show. This piece was created specially for Diana, and there’s a good reason for that. She dances there with tow other great ballerinas – Maria Shevyakova and Ekaterina Ivannikova. I can’t describe it (yeah, I know, English is my third language), but I can highly recommend it – please, go, and see it.

A good word goes also to Desmond Richardson, Igor Kolb, Mikhail Lobukhin, Alexnader Sergeev, who were also good. It is difficult not to be good, when you are partnering with Diana Vishneva…
